Landscapes

For me, a piece of art is good when I fall into by looking at it.   A landscape done well will transport you like looking out a window in a room with a view.

Nudes
Kevin Blumenthal modeled for these  images, which were set to the poem
"The Lover" in this 1998 exhibit at Hibernia.

Visual Puns
"So to Speak" is a playful visualization of figurative expressions, humorous interpretations of everyday
idioms. (more)

Mexico
In January 2000, I spent a week in Oaxaca with a camera strapped to my forehead - much to the behoovence of the natives - who don't see why pictures of them are so special. There are 16 different Indian tribes in the Oaxaca region, most predominant being the Zapotecs. Another large tribe moved in recently, called "Artists from Foreign Lands", a colorful group of people who began migrating there the latter half of the 20th century. Honing their skills in Oaxaca, the Artists tribespeople display their craft on walls to members of their own tribe, who take them home in exchange for green paper.
