A firefighter breaks down, about 300 feet from 'Ground Zero'
As of September 24, 307 firefighters are confirmed dead or missing, according to www.firehouse.com. The actual number was not posted, so I downloaded the list from their site and counted them manually. While still in the "K"s, already the toll was over 200. I was awestruck to see how many, many names had the same last name listed next to theirs - fathers and sons, brothers and cousins, died together in this tragedy. - jbauer |
